The AmCoEx Vendor Database is a database of phone numbers for more than 9,500 computer hardware and software companies. Most entries include address, email, WWW, and product information. Phone numbers include main, sales, technical, fax, and BBS numbers.
Since 1988, the American Computer Exchange has brokered thousands of used microcomputers nationwide. Sellers, both companies and individuals, list equipment for sale on our database. When buyers call, we locate what they need and charge the seller a 10% - 15% commission.
To protect both the buyer and the seller, the buyer sends money for their purchase to us. We deposit the money in an escrow account. The sellers send all equipment to our offices in Atlanta. We inspect the computers and ship them to the buyer. We hold the buyers money for two business days after they receive the equipment. This two day period constitutes an operational warranty, the buyer cannot change their mind, but if any thing is missing or malfunctioning, the seller must rectify the situation. It is the seller's option to resolve the problem or take the equipment back and the buyer receives a refund. Fewer than 2% of our transactions incur any problem. When the buyer is satisfied, we send a check to the seller.
For years, many have relied upon the ﾒAmCoEx Index of Used Computer Pricesﾓ to help determine values for used computers. This index appears regularly in numerous newspapers, business journals, and computer publications. The index provides real data based on actual trades at the American Computer Exchange. The index is provided to publications at no charge. If you would like to see the index in a publication, please write, fax, or email the editor and let them know this information is valuable to you.
Distribution
AmCoEx Vendor Database is a Shareware program and is provided at no charge to the user for evaluation. You are encouraged to copy and distribute the AmCoEx Vendor Database for non-commercial use with the following restrictions:
･ You may not modify the ﾒAmCoEx Vendor Databaseﾓ file in any way other than adding, deleting, or editing vendor information.
･ You may not charge any fee for the use, copying, or distribution of the product.
Clubs and user groups may charge a nominal fee (not to exceed $10) for expenses while distributing the AmCoEx Vendor Database. All other organizations must obtain written permission to distribute copies of AmCoEx Vendor Database if any fee is charged for the use, copying, or distribution of the product.
Registration
If you find the AmCoEx Vendor Database useful and continue to use it, you are required to register your copy.
